Canyon Pointe

Canyon Pointe is a 600,000 square foot community shopping center that spans 62 acres in Summerlin Centre. It is located along the Western Beltway at the northwest corner of Charleston Boulevard and Pavilion Center Drive.

Canyon Pointe’s first anchor tenant was Costco which opened its 145,000 square foot membership warehouse in fall 2001.

Bed Bath and Beyond, a domestic merchandise and home furnishing store, opened its second store in the Las Vegas valley at Canyon Pointe in fall 2002 with their new 35,000 square foot store. Best Buy, a national specialty retailer of consumer electronics, computers and entertainment software and appliances, occupies 45,000 square feet of the center. Borders offers a variety of books, music and movies. Borders will occupy 22,000 square feet in Canyon Pointe and will host free events such as lectures, author signings, musical performances, children’s activities and "Benefit Days" that support local charities. Marshalls, one of the nation’s largest off-price family apparel and home fashion retailers, will occupy 30,000 square feet in the center. Office Depot also opened in the center in late 2002.

Charleston Auto Care Plaza

Servicing the car is now easier and more enjoyable for Summerlin residents. The Charleston Auto Care Plaza is open and features a combination of auto service merchants and retailers along with a variety of fast food restaurants – all designed to make waiting for car repairs a little more palatable.

Located on Charleston Boulevard just west of Hualapai, the 46,000 square foot Charleston Auto Care Plaza features national auto repair chains such as Goodyear Tires & Rubber, Midas Mufflers & Brakes, American Auto Care and Asian Imports; a hair and nail salon; and a variety of eateries including Taco Bell, Quizno’s, KFC, Arby’s and Papa Johns Pizza.

The Pueblo

Located in The Pueblo village, The Pueblo Shopping Center was the first retail center to open directly in Summerlin. This charming neighborhood shopping center features adobe-style architecture and is home to more than a dozen retailers, restaurants and service providers, including Jitters, Blockbuster Video, Fazio Cleaners and others.

Summit Centre

Summit Centre is a 14-acre retail/office center located at Village Center Circle and Trailwood Drive in The Trails village. Portions of the site are still under development; however, the 13,000 square foot Fabulous Freddy’s full-service gas station, convenience store and car wash opened in fall 2002. Fabulous Freddy’s features a spacious convenience store and a state-of-the-art detail and car wash facility that uses recycled water. Lube and smog services and a public dining terrace on the corner are also offered.

A 24 Hour Fitness Super-Sport is currently under construction in Summit Centre and is scheduled for completion in mid-2003. The facility will feature basketball, racquetball and squash courts; an expanded exercise/weight room; a cycling room; swimming pool and spa; steam room and sauna; Kids Club and a Smoothie King juice bar.

Two fast-food restaurants are also planned for Summit Centre.

Trails Village Center

Trails Village Center was the first major shopping center built in Summerlin and is anchored by Vons grocery store and Longs Drug. The 176,000-square-foot center in The Trails village is also home to 50 merchant shops that include several small one-of-a-kind boutiques; financial institutions; insurance providers; fast food, such as McDonald's and Rubio's Baja Grill; and national retailers, such as Hallmark, Radio Shack, Bath and Body Works and Hollywood Video. The Center’s Starbucks coffee shop features an inviting outdoor patio at a pedestrian-friendly intersection that is the perfect place to relax, read the paper or people watch.

The Center's distinctive Mediterranean-style architecture blends well with the surrounding community and has become a popular gathering place for residents of all ages

Fashion Show

The Rouse Company (The Howard Hughes Corporation’s parent company) unveiled the Fashion Show’s west expansion with a grand opening celebration November 1, 2002. The Fashion Show added approximately one million square feet of new retail space, including seven new or expanded department stores and 200 shops. The Fashion Show currently features the following department stores: Bloomingdale’s Home, Dillard's, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Robinson’s May, and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Construction is under way on Phase II of the Fashion Show’s renovation/expansion. Phase II will add 117,000 square feet of retail space and includes the introduction of Lord & Taylor to Southern Nevada. Also part of Phase II is the Cloud, a canopy that will be 8,500 square feet in size and rise 200 feet above a new entrance and promenade area on the Strip.

Future Shopping

Several shopping centers are in the planning stages in Summerlin's newer southern and western regions.

The Gardens at Summerlin

The Gardens at Summerlin is a neighborhood shopping center on a 14.5-acre site that is in the early stage of development. It will feature grocery and drug stores, approximately 30,000 square feet of in-line retail space and separate gas, food and retail pads. The center is in The Gardens village and is bounded to the west by Town Center Drive, to the south by the Western Beltway and to the north by Twain Avenue.

South Square Neighborhood Center

This center will showcase a 160,000 square foot R.C. Willey Home Furnishings store, the second in Southern Nevada. Ground broke on the Salt Lake City, Utah-based home furnishing company’s store in July 2002 and it is projected to be complete in the first half of 2003.

Plans for center also include several restaurants, fast food, gas and specialty retail tenants.
